Missing woman’s brother says her body was found in the trunk of suspect’s car: Reports

Authorities in Massachusetts say a Rhode Island man was arrested in Delaware on suspicion of kidnapping a woman missing since late Saturday night.

According to WFXT, 23-year-old Jassy Correia’s brother said her body was found in the trunk of a car belonging to suspect Louis D. Coleman III, 32.

According to police reports, she was last seen at Venu, a club in Boston’s theater district, as she celebrated her birthday. Sources say her phone has been silenced since Sunday morning.

A statement from the Boston Police Department indicated that the cause of death has not been determined.

Police in Delaware spotted Coleman, of Providence, and arrested him on Thursday. Reports claim he can be seen leaving an apartment in Rhode Island with two suitcases after apparently carrying the victim into the same building.

Providence Police Col. Hugh Clements said the case is being treated as a homicide but did not elaborate on what investigators found in either the suspect’s trunk or on the surveillance camera.

Reports indicate Correia was never seen leaving the building and was not inside the apartment when police searched it.

Relatives say the victim is the mother of a 2-year-old girl being cared for by loved ones since the disappearance.

Police say the investigation into the alleged kidnapping and homicide remains ongoing, as reported by WPRI.
