Man chokes driver who refuses to stop singing Christmas carols, cops say

Authorities in Pennsylvania say a man became irate when his driver refused to stop singing Christmas tunes during a recent trip, ultimately attacking the victim in a violent display that landed him behind bars.

According to Fox News, 25-year-old Clayton Lucas was traveling along Route 28 in East Deer Township earlier this month when the individual behind the wheel reportedly continued singing carols over the objection of the passenger.

Police say Lucas reached over to the driver’s seat and started to choke the driver.

At one point, the alleged victim nearly lost consciousness, according to officials.

Lucas allegedly resisted arrest and refused orders when state police officers caught up with him a short time after the March 4 incident, as KDKA reported.

Officers were eventually able to take him into custody and he was locked up on suspicion of criminal counts including aggravated assault.

In an interview with a responding state trooper, the alleged victim recalled that Lucas reacted in response to his singing. He described feeling the air and blood flow being cut off as he was being choked.

The officer reported that the victim displayed bloodshot eyes and a discolored neck at the time of the interview.
