Woman fires shotgun at husband during booze-fueled argument over his snoring: Cops

Authorities in Florida say a 47-year-old woman shot her boyfriend at their home in Brevard County this week during an argument about the latter’s loud snoring.

According to the New York Post, police say Lorie Morin initially claimed the shooting was an accident, an assertion backed up at first by the victim.

As the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation, however, deputies determined that she grabbed a shotgun on Wednesday evening during a domestic dispute rooted in the unidentified victim’s apparently disruptive snoring.

She was arrested at the scene and booked into Brevard County Jail, where she remained without bond as of the latest reports available.

Morin is expected to face criminal charges including attempted murder and aggravated battery.

Police say both the victim and suspect were drinking prior to the altercation on Wednesday. The man was transported to an area hospital, where he was listed in stable condition as of the latest reports available.

Neighbors expressed dismay and disbelief when they learned of the allegations against her, according to WLS.

“I’ve talked to her a couple times and she’s always been really nice, and so the news is kind of shocking, honestly,” said Samantha Bobier.

Robert Mason, another nearby resident, called Morin’s alleged behavior “stupid” and “bizarre.”

Bobier added that she found the claims “kind of crazy.”
