Cops nab husband of murdered nurse thousands of miles from his home carrying ‘a large sum of money’: Reports

Authorities say a North Carolina man is in custody after a manhunt that stemmed from the death of his wife.

According to the New York Daily News, Arizona police spotted the fugitive, 58-year-old Lynn Keel, near Tucson on Sunday, two days after police in North Carolina secured an arrest warrant against him for first-degree murder.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, 38-year-old Diana Alejandra Keel was reported missing earlier this month and her body was found by a Department of Transportation employee five days later in an area about 30 miles from her home.

Forensic testing was able to identify her remains days later.

Police say the victim was a nurse and her disappearance initially sparked concern among her colleagues when she missed several days of work.

When officers detained Lynn Keel, he reportedly had “many Wells Fargo receipts and a large sum of money on him.”

As of the latest reports available, he remained behind bars in Arizona at the Pima County Jail.

According to WRAL, authorities are now taking another look at the 2006 death of Lynn Keel’s first wife, Bess, who died after a fall deemed at the time to be accidental.
