Arrest of Kendall Jenner’s stalker ‘could very well have prevented a violent crime,’ authorities say

A Canadian citizen accused of stalking Kendall Jenner has been arrested, according to new reports.

TMZ cited law enforcement sources who say John Ford, 38, was arrested by agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement this week after allowing his American visa to expire.

Police believe he is also the same man who twice approached Jenner’s residence in recent months.

In an incident last October, a stalker reportedly staked out the home from an area near the swimming pool. He allegedly returned soon after and approached the porch.

“This timely arrest could very well have prevented a violent crime,” an ICE spokesperson said. “Our special agents acted quickly on this tip to ensure that this obsessive behavior didn’t escalate to become a tragedy.”

A family statement offered praise for the hard work of investigators and agents responsible for the arrest.

“We are extremely appreciative of the hard work by the Los Angeles Police Dept. and ICE, whose swift response and professionalism led to this man’s apprehension,” the statement continued.

The family went on to say Ford’s alleged actions “have not only had a severe impact on Kendall’s life, but the entire family’s sense of security, causing us to fear for Kendall’s safety as well as our own.”

Ford allegedly entered the U.S. about a year ago with a visa that allowed him to stay in the states for no longer than six months. As of the latest reports available, he remained behind bars in Texas awaiting a deportation hearing.

“Knowing this indiviual is in custody gives us peace of mind,” the family statement concluded.
