A passenger aboard an Air Portugal flight from Lisbon to Malaga earlier this month reportedly caused quite a scene over the airline’s choice in beverages.
According to the New York Post, the incident occurred on March 9 and was captured on a fellow passenger’s cellphone camera.
The woman reportedly ordered a Pepsi but was informed by a flight attendant that fruit juice was her only option. She allegedly wanted the soft drink to use as a mixer for her mid-flight booze.
“Her hands turned to claws,” one witness said of the ensuing outburst. “She looked like a demon. She was the worst passenger I have ever seen and I fly quite a lot.”
The tourist described the woman getting out of her seat as her face turned “bright red,” adding that “it was like she was possessed.”
Witnesses say she also had an apparent beef with flight attendants after they forced her to put her bag away during the flight.
One man aboard the flight said the captain walked up to the woman’s seat and informed her that she had been banned from boarding future Air Portugal flights. Airline spokesperson Marisa Ferreria said “all required procedures were followed” in connection with the disruption.
Upon landing, local authorities reportedly came onto the jet to take the woman into custody.
