NBA star Kristaps Porzingis is accused of calling a woman his “slave” and using other derogatory language as he sexually assaulted her in an incident the alleged victim says occurred in February 2018.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, the then-New York Knick injured his knee during a game on the day of the alleged rape and new reports provide additional details from the woman’s account of what happened in the hours that followed.
According to the New York Post, the 29-year-old woman, who is black, told police that Porzingis punched her and raped her inside his apartment in a building they both called home.
TMZ cited law enforcement sources in a report published on Sunday who said the alleged victim claimed the pro athlete called her a “bitch” and “slave” in addition to spitting on her and telling her he owned her during the assault in his penthouse guest room.
In a statement to the Post, police said they were not able to confirm those details at that time.
Porzingis has responded to the claims by asserting that the woman has attempted to extort him.
The New York Police Department’s special victims division is reportedly handling the investigation.
A spokesperson for his former team said the case is “Kristaps’ personal matter and not related to the Knicks.”
