Johnny Depp’s ex-wife Amber Heard describes violent “monster” he became when on drugs: Reports

Actor Johnny Depp’s ex-wife shared some shocking allegations against him in a new court filing nearly three years after filing for divorce.

Amber Heard was responding to Depp’s $50 million defamation suit against her in connection with a Washington Post editorial she wrote last year about her past experiences with domestic abuse. Though she does not name her alleged abuser, Depp’s legal team claims she insinuated as much.

Eric M. George, an attorney representing Heard, said Depp’s “frivolous action is just the latest” among his “repeated efforts to silence Amber Heard.”

Depp’s lawyers call her claims a “hoax,” but Heard provided her own side of the story, as reported by Page Six.

Describing Depp as “the monster” when he abused drugs and alcohol, the 33-year-old actress said he would become violent, strangling and beating her while they were married.

According to the Daily Beast, she used similar language to describe him in testimony related to their divorce proceedings.

She said the transformation began to show about a year after they began dating in 2012.

“On some occasions, when Johnny simultaneously used both illegal narcotics and prescription medication I have had to get him medical attention,” Heard testified. “Whenever he was using, I was worried for both of us. He would become a totally different person, often delusional and violent.”

She recalled one alleged incident in aboard a cross-county flight in 2014. He appeared to be already drunk before boarding, she said, and continued drinking heavily during the flight.

“Johnny’s handlers told me that he was upset that I was filming a movie with a romantic scene with James Franco the day before,” Heard claimed. “Soon, Johnny began to throw objects at me.”

She said she changed seats in an unsuccessful effort to halt his behavior.

“He provocatively pushed a chair at me as I walked by, yelled at me, and taunted me by yelling out the name James Franco,” her statement continues.

The alleged incident escalated as Heard claims her then-husband kicked her and threw a boot at her.

“Johnny continued to scream obscenities until he went into the plane bathroom and passed out locked in the bathroom for the remainder of the flight,” Heard alleged.

Following his outbursts, she claimed he “often would not remember” his behavior.

After the incident on the private jet, Heard said he profusely apologized in a text message and promised to change his behavior. They were married early the following year.

“Because I loved Johnny, I had believed his multiple promises that he could and would get better,” Heard said. “I was wrong.”

Just weeks into their marriage, Heard claims he spent days abusing drugs.

“I went downstairs to find that Johnny was still awake, and that he had stayed up all night having taken about eight MDMA pills,” she claimed. “He was also drinking again. We got into a fight that Johnny made physical, and I barricaded myself in one of the rooms.”

Despite her efforts, Heard alleged that Depp burst into the room and hit her several times, pushed her, spit at her and choked her throughout the rest of the evening.

A “three-day ordeal” was underway, she claimed, including booze-fueled acts by Depp such as throwing bottles, grabbing her by the hair and strangling her against a counter. Heard alleged that Depp also injured himself in the process, “cutting off the tip” of his finger while slamming and destroying a phone.

Depp allegedly urinated throughout the residence and, after three days without sleep, Heard said he was admitted to a hospital and she came away with “a busted lip, a swollen nose” and cuts that left her scarred on her hands and feet.

Heard went on to recall various other alleged threats and acts, including her fear that he would hurt her younger sister. In addition to continued violent acts, she claimed she lived in a state of fear that he would kill her during one of his benders.

After they divorced in early 2017, Heard said that she was labeled a liar by some critics, lost work as a result of her claims against Depp, and faced multiple death threats.
