URGENT: Young national guard mom disappears

WATCH NOW: Video released after mom fails to pick up son from babysitter, mysteriously vanishes

Authorities released the last known video of a missing Texas woman who failed to pick up her son up on Wednesday, in hopes that someone will recognize her. The woman’s family said she would never leave her child behind and it’s not like her to disappear without telling anyone.

ABC 8 reports that the family of 26-year-old Mesquite mom Prisma Denisse Peralta Reyes reported her missing Wednesday night, two hours after she failed to pick up her 6-year-old son from the babysitter’s house. Police found security footage of Reyes by tracing her steps to her last known whereabouts, at the Olympic at Ross apartment in Dallas, on Thursday morning.

Reyes appeared to be possibly disoriented in the video, swaying back and forth while talking on her cellphone. Authorities later contacted the person Reyes was talking to on the phone, but they didn’t have information that led police to her whereabouts.

Reyes’ stepfather, Dan Fuchs, watched the video and said the missing woman may have been distressed or worried about something, as her body language on the video was similar to how she’s reacted to stress in the past.

“The hope is with the video someone sees her clothing, sees her mannerisms. maybe they recognize her. Maybe they remember seeing her somewhere, and they’ll reach out to us and identify the location of her whereabouts,” Lt. Stephen Biggs with the Mesquite Police Department said.

On Thursday morning, police found Reyes’ 2017 Jeep Wrangler abandoned off of the 3500 block of Roseland Avenue in Dallas.

“It is unusual for anyone I think to abandon a vehicle, but really to not pick up their child when they’re supposed to?” Biggs  added, according to CBS DFW.

Reyes, who was last seen wearing a red polo shirt and blue jeans, hasn’t responded to any text messages or calls.

Fuchs said it’s out of character for the mom to disappear without telling anyone, adding that the woman’s son is “her world” and she would never voluntarily leave or forget about him.

Fuchs added that Reyes is a paralegal and former member of the National Guard.

Reyes is described as a Hispanic female who stands 5-feet-2-inches tall and weighs around 135 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes.
