While three men beat, rape & starve little girl, two women act as ‘lookout’ while the abuse continues for YEARS: Police

** WARNING**: Graphic Detail

During a preliminary hearing at a Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, courtroom on Tuesday, a lead detective described in graphic detail the alleged brutal abuse a young girl endured for years, at the hands of five adults.

Fox 8 reports that Harrington Matherne, 66, Tilman Carolise, 53, and Farrel Tregre, 19, are accused of repeatedly raping and abusing a young girl at a residence off of the 500 block of Fairmont Street in Harvey, starting in 2009 when she was just four and lasting until around 2017.

The suspects are also accused of starving and beating the child, while Carolise is accused of threatening her with a firearm if she told, according to JPSO spokesman Capt. Jason Rivarde, who testified during the preliminary hearing.

Carolise is also accused of cutting the little girl and making her sleep in a dog kennel. One on occasion, the man allegedly told the girl he was taking her fishing, but when they got to a secluded area in the woods, he allegedly bound her hands and feet to a tree and raped her.

According to court documents, the little girl, now 12, described Carolise as a family member.

Many of the alleged sexual assaults occurred inside the girl’s bedroom. Two women, 46-year-old Tina Tregre and 40-year-old Terri Tregre, are accused of beating the child and standing in front of the bedroom door “as lookouts,” while the men raped her. In one instance, Terri Tregre allegedly pushed the child back inside the room when she tried to escape.

The girl told Rivarde on the many instances, all three men would rape her during the same day. The youngest suspect, Farrel Tregre, reportedly apologized to the girl afterward, while crying and explaining that he “did what he had to do.”

Eventually, the child began experimenting with self-harm, which landed her in a mental health facility in Biloxi, Mississippi. It was there that she opened up and reportedly described the abuse in detail. The case was transferred to Harvey County, Louisiana, after authorities determined where the reported abuse occurred.

Despite defense lawyers objecting, a judge found enough probable cause to hold all five suspects on numerous charges.

  • Carolise is charged with first degree rape, cruelty to a juvenile, and aggravated assault with a firearm.
  • Carolise’s girlfriend, Tina Tregre, is charged with principal to first degree rape and cruelty to a juvenile.
  • Tina Tregre’s former husband, Harrington Matherne, is charged with rape.
  • Tina Tregre and Harrington Matherne’s son, Farrel Tregre, is charged with rape.
  • Tina Tregre’s sister, Terri Tregre, is charged with principal to first degree rape and cruelty to a juvenile.

All suspects remain behind bars. Check back with CrimeOnline as additional details become available.
