Teen threatens school shooting in letter to Santa, police say

A 15-year-old boy in Florida is very much on the naughty list after he allegedly wrote a letter to Santa Claus threatening a school shooting — but signed another classmate’s name to the postcard.

The Tampa Bay Times reports that the teen boy was arrested on Monday, charged with making written threats to kill or do bodily harm. The boy is suspected of leaving a postcard addressed to Santa at the Wesley Chapel Macy’s in November, with a threatening message about a shooting Wiregrass Ranch High School in Wesley Chapel.

The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office told the newspaper that the signature on the postcard was the name of a female student, but authorities ruled her out as a suspect, and reportedly found fingerprints on the postcard that led them to the teen boy who has since been charged.

The juvenile suspect reportedly has a previous misdemeanor arrest. There are no indications that anyone was hurt in connection to the incident.
