Williams is a 2nd-grade teacher at Hutchison Beach Elementary School. Bay District Schools Superintendent Bill Husfelt released a statement after learning of the incident, indicating that Williams has been suspended with pay while authorities continue to investigate the incident.

“We hold our educators to the highest of standards, professionally and personally, and so news of the arrest of an employee is very disheartening. In this situation, as in all others, the employee is suspended with pay (per the union contract) while the investigation continues.”

According to the Bay County Sheriff’s Office, Williams is facing a felony charge of aggravated domestic battery. She’s behind bars at the Bay County Jail, awaiting her first court appearance.
