Man fatally shoots his dad in violent Father’s Day argument, cops say

Authorities in Florida say a man has been arrested on suspicion of killing his own dad during a domestic dispute on Father’s Day.

According to the New York Post, 32-year-old Marcus Sakers is accused of brandishing a firearm on Sunday evening as he and Fedel Ezekiel Peake, 60, engaged in a physical altercation.

Police reports indicate a witness heard the victim declare “You shot me” just before he succumbing to the injury, as reported by WPLG. Peake was reportedly rushed to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Sakers allegedly ran from the Miami residence and was spotted by police the next morning. After his subsequent arrest, he was booked into a Miami-Dade County jail, where he remained behind bars wihtout bail as of Tuesday.

The deadly attack was not his first violent incident, as court records indicate.

Among at least a dozen arrests since 2006 were eight charges of battery. He was incarcerated for two months after a conviction in 2016 of charges related to aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Sakers also faces allegations stemming from an April arrest for alleged aggravated battery in a case involving a pregnant victim.

Five years ago, his father was granted a restraining order against him. He is expected to be charged with murder in the second degree in connection with his latest arrest.
