Groom accused of killing bride during marathon honeymoon bondage session, rupturing her internal organs

The suspect is accused of penetrating his wife with a sharp metal instrument that had a barbed hook

A recently married man is accused of leaving his wife to die after a violent BDSM session caused life-threatening injuries just days after their wedding.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Ralph Jankus, 52, of Germany, is on trial for manslaughter charges following his wife’s  Christel’s death during their honeymoon last year.

Prosecutors reportedly said in court that Jankus and his wife had engaged in violent sex — involving bondage and sadomasochism — when Jankus penetrated his wife’s anus with a sharp object, later found to have a barbed hook that led to a perforated bowel.

According to the New York Post, medical experts have since determined that the insertion of the object caused Christel’s internal injuries.

Prosecutors reportedly allege that Jankus left his wife to suffer for four days without seeking medical attention. The defendant has claimed that he and his wife were engaged in consensual sexual activity and he was not aware that his wife’s injuries were life-threatening.

As the New York Post reports, Jankus posted a Facebook message announcing his wife’s death — but didn’t mention what is believed to have led to it.

The post reads: “I would like to thank you for the many congratulations on the wedding. Unfortunately, I have to inform you that after only 8 days of marriage, my beloved wife suddenly passed away, I am desperate. All I got to know about happiness was the years with my wonderful wife.”

Jankus will reportedly face prison time if he is convicted.
