Man dumps hot coffee on boyfriend, throws cup at him during domestic incident at Waffle House: Cops

Authorities in Tennessee say a man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting his boyfriend during a domestic dispute at a restaurant in Powell this weekend.

According to WVLT, 36-year-old Ronald Walker is accused of pouring hot coffee on the other man, later throwing the empty cup at his back.

According to police reports, the suspect was being disruptive and rude to the staff of the Waffle House. It was allegedly his boyfriend’s attempt to intervene and calm him down that led to the physical altercation.

The restaurant indicated that it would not be pressing charges against the suspect for property damage associated with the fight.

During the incident, police believe the alleged victim returned the gesture by dousing Walker with the soda in his glass. As he attempted to leave the restaurant on Saturday, the suspect allegedly threw the cup at him.

As of the latest reports available, Walker had been arrested and is expected to face criminal charges related to domestic assault. Court records indicate he has been arrested on similar charges multiple times in the past.
