Utah police are desperately searching for a college student who disappeared on Monday and hasn’t been heard from since.

Mackenzie Lueck, a 23-year-old student at University of Utah, was last heard from by family around 1:00 a.m. on Monday morning, when she arrived at Salt Lake City International Airport after a flight from Los Angeles. She had returned from her grandmother’s funeral in El Segundo over the weekend and texted her family once she landed to tell them she was safe.

Mackenzie then got into a Lyft and seemingly disappeared.

Salt Lake City PD confirmed that Mackenzie was seen leaving the airport via Lyft and dropped off at a destination in North Salt Lake. They have not publicly announced the address, but it was not her current residence.

Lyft released a statement to FOX 13 regarding the incident.

“We recognize how scary this must be for those who know and love Ms. Lueck. The safety of our community is fundamental to Lyft and we are actively assisting law enforcement with their investigation.”

The company added that her ride ended at the destination originally entered by Mackenzie, and her driver continued providing rides immediately afterward.

Mackenzie never arrived to her home located near Trolley Square in Salt Lake City. Her car has not been moved, her luggage has not been located, and her phone has been off since Monday. She failed to show up for work or classes and missed a midterm exam.

Friends describe “Kenzie” as social and outgoing, but school and work are her top priorities. She is a senior majoring in Kinesiology and a member of the Alphi Chi Omega sorority. Friends said it is out of character for her not to stay in touch.

Mackenzie is described as 5-feet-6-inches tall, weighing around 120 pounds with a slim build. She has medium-length blond hair, brown eyes and thick eyelash extensions.
