Upon arriving at Owasso Wine and Liquor, authorities reportedly found the 14-month-old child they believed to have been in the vehicle for up to 20 minutes. The mother, 24-year-old Gretchen Markovics, was reportedly leaving the store when officers approached her.

She was arrested at the scene and is expected to face a criminal charge related to child endangerment.

Police reports indicate the toddler was unclothed except for a soiled diaper and appeared to be suffering from medical issues, according to KJRH.

After transporting the child to an area hospital for observation, the Oklahoma Department of Human Services reportedly took custody.
