Cops search for man seen on surveillance camera stabbing family’s ‘harmless’ pet dog to death in front yard: Reports

Authorities in California say they are on the lookout for an unidentified person they say stabbed a dog to death in the front yard of the home where the pet lived.

According to KABC, the gruesome incident played out in front of a surveillance camera in Pomona on Tuesday. The assailant is apparently a trespasser, but additional information was not immediately available.

Footage reveals the armed suspect “ultimately stabbing the harmless dog to death,” Pomona police alleged in a statement.

Investigators believe the suspect is a man between 30 and 35 years of age, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, roughly 130 pounds, and either white or Hispanic. He was last known to be wearing a gray T-shirt, short, black socks with sandals and a hat.

As of the latest reports available, there had been no arrest in the case and local police were reaching out to the public for tips.
