Mother-daughter duo accused of killing pregnant mom, ripping baby from womb face new murder charges

The mother and daughter accused of murdering a young pregnant mother are facing additional charges after the death of the newborn infant, who was allegedly cut from his mother’s body.

ABC 7 reports that Clarissa Figueroa and her daughter Desiree Figueroa, who were arrested in May for the murder of 19-year-old Marlen Ochoa Lopez, have now been charged with the death of Lopez’s baby. Yovanny Lopez. The young mother of one was reportedly near her due date when she went to the Figueroa home in Chicago in April, allegedly lured with the promise of baby supplies.

Lopez’s body was discovered in a garbage can at the property in May. The baby. who Clarissa Figueroa allegedly tried to pass off as her own, survived for several weeks with severe brain damage, but died in June.

The mother and daughter are expected to next appear in court on July 26.
