Officers arrest 3, search for 1 more after officers are doused with water and hit with bucket: Cops

Authorities in New York say they have arrested three men on multiple criminal charges and are seeking to identify another suspect in a pair of incidents involving water poured on local police officers.

According to CNN, the first occurred on Saturday when a cop was doused with liquid on Saturday as he worked in Brooklyn.

A suspect in that case has been arrested, according to NYPD Detective Ahmed Nasser. He confirmed that Brooklyn resident Courtney Thompson is expected to face criminal counts including disorderly conduct, harassment, obstructing governmental administration, and criminal nuisance.

The day after the first incident, a group of individuals allegedly surrounded NYPD officers responding to a disorderly conduct call. Video of that encounter reportedly reveals one man throw an empty bucket at one officer, hitting him in the head.

In a statement, the agency revealed that the officer “suffered pain and swelling to the back of his head.”

Police released images of the three subjects, vowing that the city and department will “never accept such disrespect.”

Investigators later identified Chad Bowden and Isiah Scott as two of the suspects in the second incident. Both are expected to face related criminal charges.

Anyone with information related to these incidents is urged to contact the NYPD tip line by calling 1-800-577-TIPS.
