BREAKING: Mother and 6-year-old AMBER Alert boy found dead inside parking garage

A Texas mother and her 6-year-old boy, who was the center of a recent AMBER Alert, are both dead, police say.

According to police, Phillip Oliver “Ollie” Wiedemann and his mother, Candace Harbin, 46, were found deceased inside a parking garage in Ellis County, Texas, near the Ellis County Courthouse, on Friday night. Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that authorities found the pair after receiving a call that two people were unresponsive inside a minivan.

At this time, details surrounding how mother and son died are unclear. Authorities said the case is an active investigation and cannot provide immediate details.

Ollie’s father, John Wiedemann, reported his son missing on Friday at around 9 a.m. from Waxahachie. Wiedemann reportedly told police that Harbin, who didn’t have custody of the child, was likely with the boy. Wiedemann and his wife were estranged.

NBC 13 reports that Wiedemann told police he was worried for his son’s safety. After issuing an AMBER Alert for Ollie, authorities obtained an arrest warrant against Harbin for kidnapping and announced that the boy was in “imminent danger.”
