BREAKING: Jersey City shooters are prime suspects in murder of victim found beaten to death in trunk of car

The New Jersey state attorney reportedly said that the shooters behind a Jersey City gun massacre on Tuesday are prime suspects in the murder of a man found in car trunk nearby the location of the deadly shootout, according to the Associated Press.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, one of the suspects fatally shot Jersey City Police Detective Joseph Seals on Tuesday just before both suspects drove from a cemetery to a kosher market where they opened fire, killing three more people before they died amid police gunfire.

Detective Seals had reportedly approached the suspects because their vehicle, a U-Haul van, was connected to a homicide investigation.

The New York Times has identified the homicide victim as Michael Rumberger, 34, of Jersey City. The Hudson County Prosecutor’s office told the newspaper that Rumberger was found dead in the trunk of a Lincoln Town Car with “massive head trauma” on Saturday night in Bayonne.

This is a developing story and all details are preliminary. CrimeOnline will provide further updates when more information is available.
