Pack of mountain lions found feeding on human remains

Authorities have said the mountain lions did not kill the person they were feeding on. The identify of the victim and the cause of death is ongoing

A pack of three mountain lions were killed in Arizona on Tuesday after they were found feeding on a human body.

According to the Associated Press,  Arizona Game and Fish Department said in a statement that the animals were killed because they posed a threat and showed no fear of officers trying to recover the body near the Pima Canyon Trail in Tucson. But authorities do not believe that the animals killed the unidentified victim.

A medical examiner is working to identify the victim and the cause of death. Authorities have not yet said if they believe foul play is a factor.

The hiking trail was re-opened after authorities concluded they was no danger to the public.

CrimeOnline will provide further updates when more information is available.
