Fotis Dulos: Alleged wife killer tries to kill himself on day of emergency bond hearing. He’s en route to hospital with hyperbaric chamber, lawyer says

This is a breaking news story and will be updated.

Fotis Dulos, who was charged with the death and disappearance of his estranged wife, Jennifer Dulos, apparently attempted suicide on the day he was scheduled for an emergency bond hearing.

Dulos was scheduled for a January 28 hearing at the Stamford Superior Court, in connection with his $6 million bond, which came with strict home confinement requirements. During his first and second arrest, Dulos was confined to house arrest but he was still able to jog around his expansive Farmington home.

Dulos’ latest house confinement restrictions required him to stay inside his home while awaiting trial, which means he cannot leave his property, even if just a few feet outside of it.

Last week, after Dulos reportedly stole items placed outside of his home in memory of Jennifer Dulos, Superior Court Judge Gary White reprimanded him. White reportedly said if Dulos violated his conditions again, his bond would be doubled.

Dulos was scheduled for the hearing in connection with his bond violation. There was reportedly a chance that his bond would be revoked.

According to Lt. Tim Mackenzie with the Farmington Police Department, Dulos was taken to UConn Health Center in critical condition, a little before noon on Tuesday. Attorney Norm Pattis reportedly said that Dulos will be transferred to another hospital, where he can be placed in a hyperbaric chamber.

First responders reportedly found Dulos inside a running car in his garage, with clear medical distress. After he was given life-saving measures, first responders transported Dulos to the hospital.

Dulos’ other lawyer, Rich Rochlin, previously said that Dulos had passed away, according to FOX 61, which has reportedly been refuted by Pattis.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Dulos is accused of kidnapping and murdering Jennifer Dulos, who disappeared on May 24 after dropping their five children off at school.

Investigators accused Dulos of “lying in wait” for Jennifer to come home on the morning she vanished. Security footage captured her walking into her New Canaan home at around 8:30 a.m. Authorities noted that Jennifer’s SUV left her residence at some point on May 24, but they think Fotis Dulos was behind the wheel.

The pair were in the process of a tumultuous divorce and a bitter battle for custody of their children when Jennifer disappeared. The children are now living in New York with Jennifer’s mother. Gloria Farber.
