Update: Child dies after mother goes to bar, leaves 7-year-old special needs girl & 2 other young children home alone [Police]

A young girl is dead after a Texas mother went to a bar and left her 7-year-old daughter and two other young children home alone, police say.

According to ABC 30, 26-year-old Lauren Dean went to Shades Bar in Bay City on January 30, leaving her three young children, ages 7, 5, and 3 months, home alone inside her apartment off of Bordeaux. The 7-year-old, Jordynn, had Cerebral Palsy and Down Syndrome. She was also bed-ridden and depended on a feeding tube for nourishment.

A witness at the apartment complex reportedly contacted Children’s Protective Services (CPS) at around midnight and said the children were left home alone.

During a welfare check the following day at around 2:23 p.m., Dean invited officers inside the apartment to show that her children were fine. However, once authorities checked inside the apartment, they found Jordynn deceased.
