Police discover illegal, secret nightclub in New York City during coronavirus pandemic shutdown

Police found a large group of people drinking and gambling in the hidden club

Police have arrested a Brooklyn man on suspsicion of running an illegal club weeks after the city ordered all non-essential businesses to close down amid the coronavirus pandemic.

According to WABC, police discovered a dozen people gathered inside an apparently secret club in Gravesend on Saturday. The space appeared to be closed from the outside. The group was allegedly gambling and drinking alcohol, though the club does not have a liquor license.

Vasil Pando was arrested and is facing multiple charges, including reckless endangerment. The report did not include any further details about the suspect.
