Child dies in fall from high-rise; death investigation underway

A child is dead after falling 16 floor from a highrise building in Hollywood, Florida.

According to the Sun Sentinel, the unidentified child died in a fall on Saturday at the Quadomain Condomium building at 2201 South Ocean Drive. A security guard at the building told the news outlet that the fatal incident took place around midday.

Authorities have not yet released the age or the gender of the child. Neighbors reported hearing screams on Saturday. One resident said she heard screams in the late morning; another told the newspaper that he heard the child’s father scream.

There building is reportedly 27 stories high. According to WPLG, the child may have fallen from a window, but police have not shared any details as the investigation continues.
