Passerby spots man loading tarp-covered dead body in U-Haul: Police

New York authorities are investigating after they found a dead corpse inside a U-Haul on Wednesday.

The New York Post reports that a witness walking by spotted a tarp outside near a U-Haul and thought it seemed suspicious. The alleged incident happened around 4 a.m. in the Flatbush area, off of E. 21st Street.

The witness kicked the tarp and looked underneath, then contacted police after discovering a body. Minutes later, a man emerged and walked to the tarp, then loaded it and the body into a U-Haul. Police arrived before the man, identified as a 68-year-old, could leave.

Authorities took the suspect in for questioning.

EMS arrived and discovered that the deceased victim was female. It’s still unclear how she died or who she was.
