DEVELOPING: Four months later, father arrested for killing two small children, found dead from ‘homicidal violence’ [Police]

*This is a developing story and will be updated as additional information becomes available.*

Nearly four months after the deaths of two young Wisconsin children, their father is behind bars, accused of killing them.

NBC 26 reports that 5-year-old William Beyer and 3-year-old Danielle Beyer passed away from “homicidal violence” in February. The incident happened inside the upper level of a duplex in Kaukauna. Police were alerted to the incident when someone called 911 and claimed, “their children needed help.”

When authorities arrived, they found both children with “intentionally inflicted injuries.” Officials declined to say who called 911 to report the children’s injuries. Both children were later pronounced dead.

The Kaukauna Police Department, who still have not disclosed the type of injuries the children had, announced Friday morning the arrest of the children’s father, identified as Matthew Beyer. It’s unclear what evidence led investigators to Beyer.

So far, little is known about the incident or what may have led to the children’s deaths. Beyer and the children’s mother were no longer together, according to family members.

Beyer was booked into the Outagamie County Jail. Kaukauna police said they’ve forwarded two charges that include two counts of first-degree homicidal violence. The Outagamie County District Attorney’s Office will be handling the case.
