Infant girl dies after mother repeatedly crashes into father’s car: Report

A 3-month-old girl died after her mother allegedly intentionally hit the car the baby’s father was driving.

WBS-TV reports that a man had placed his infant daughter in a vehicle and was preparing to to drive from a location in northwest Atlanta when the baby’s mother drove up and rear-ended the SUV repeatedly. The impact reportedly caused the man to lose control of the SUV and he crashed into a pole.

According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, responding police officers found both the father and the 3-month-old baby injured from the crash. The infant was transported to a nearby hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

The father is reportedly in stable condition, with unspecified injuries.

Authorities have not yet publicly identified the victims or the apparent suspect. The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports that the baby’s mother has been taken in for questioning, but has not yet been formally charged.
