FOUND SAFE: Pennsylvania 8th grader returns home after missing nearly a week

Lower Paxton Police have announced that 13-year-old Destiny Snyder has been found safe, nearly a week after she went missing from her home in the early hours of Saturday morning. Local station WGAL first reported the news.

The police department issued a statement confirming Destiny’s safe return.

“Destiny Snyder (13 years old), who had been missing since Saturday 8/15/20, has returned safely. Thank you to all who assisted in the search,” the statement reads. “The Lower Paxton police will continue follow up with Destiny and her family to ensure they have continued access to all available services to assist them in the future.”

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Destiny is believed to have left a “goodbye” note for her family when she left home before dawn on Saturday. Her family also said she had been struggling with mental health issues.

Authorities have not released any details about how or where Destiny was found. CrimeOnline will provide further updates when more information is available.

Authorities are searching for a 13-year-old girl who has not been seen since early Saturday morning.

WHTM reports that Destiny Snyder vanished from her home in Lower Paxton Township sometime between 2:30 a.m and 8 a.m. on Saturday. According to PennLive.com, Destiny’s parents first reported her disappearance in a message posted to a private Central Dauphin School District Facebook group on Saturday. Lower Paxton Township police have since confirmed the disappearance.

According to the PennLive.com report, Destiny is 5’2″ tall, weighs 114 pounds and has long brown hair and brown eyes.

As WHTM reports, the Central Dauphin School District sent a letter to families asking for anyone with information about Destiny’s whereabouts to come forward.

Dear CDSD Students and Families,

A CD East Middle School 8th grade student, Destiny Snyder, went missing between approximately 2:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. this morning, August 15, 2020, from her home in Lower Paxton Township.

A recent picture of destiny is attached to this email. If you know of anyone who has seen or spoken to her since her disappearance, please immediately call Lower Paxton Township Police at 717-657-5656.
