3-month-old baby fighting for its life after being found unconscious in Manhattan apartment

A 3-month-old baby is struggling to survive after it was discovered unconscious in an apartment on Manhattan’s Lower East Side on Monday.

According to the New York Post, authorities suspect the unidentified child was abused, and the infant showed signs of shaken baby syndrome.

As of Wednesday morning, the infant was in critical condition at Weill Cornell Medical Center.

Law enforcement sources told the New York Post that the infant’s mother’s boyfriend was caring for the baby when it was found unconscious Monday evening at the Vladeck Houses on Water Street in lower Manhattan.

It is unclear if that man is in custody, or if police consider him a suspect.

This is a developing story and all information is preliminary. CrimeOnline will provide further updates when more information is available.
