Harvey Weinstein ‘doing poorly’ with possible COVID-19: Report

Convicted rapist Harvey Weinstein has developed a high fever and is suspected of having Covid-19.

As TMZ and CNN report, Weinstein is being treated after running a fever of 101 degrees while in prison, though representatives would not confirm whether he tested positive for the disease caused by the coronavirus.

“At this time… we can neither confirm nor deny that Mr. Weinstein has tested positive for COVID-19,” Weinstein’s publicist Juda Englemeyer, and Craig Rothfeld, Weinstein’s NYSDOCCS and NYS Department of Health Representative, said in a joint statement obtained by CNN.

Engelmeyer reportedly added: “We can confirm that Mr. Weinstein has a fever and is being closely monitored by the excellent medical staff at Wende CF for which the entire legal defense team is grateful.”

According to TMZ, unidentified law enforcement sources with knowledge of the situation have said that the disgraced Hollywood producer is in serious condition and “doing poorly,” and that his symptoms may indicate a coronavirus infection.

Weinstein reportedly tested positive for coronavirus this spring, but reports indicated he did not become ill.

Representatives said in a statement obtained by TMZ that Weinstein has “numerous maladies and conditions including a heart condition, high blood pressure and spinal stenosis.”

According to the TMZ report, Weinstein was in isolation as of Tuesday night and is expected to be transferred to the prison hospital is the coronavirus test he was given comes back with a positive result.
