Thursday Crime Stories: ‘Outdoorsman’ tracks women like animals through woods to rape and murder

Seventeen women die at the hands of a man who seemed harmless in appearance, a man thought of warmly in his community. It was a facade. Over 12 years, serial killer Robert Hansen abducted women and hunted them down in the Alaska wilderness. He confessed to raping an additional 30 women during that time. How did the mild-manner baker with a wife and children earn the nickname, “the Butcher Baker?”
