Children’s nurse missing after mother found murdered on Thanksgiving: Report

Police in Ohio are searching for a nurse who has been missing a week, and whose mother was found dead of an apparent homicide on Thanksgiving Day.

According to News 5 Cleveland, Nichole Bronowski, 45, of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, has not been seen since the evening of November 25. Her ex-husband reported Bronowski missing on Thanksgiving, according to the news station. On that day, Bronowski’s mother Norma Matko, 69, was found dead at her home in Barnesville, which is about 115 miles from Cuyahoga Falls.

Investigators reportedly believe Matko was murdered, but have not released any information about the cause of death. Authorities have not yet commented on whether they believe Matko’s death and Bronowski’s disappearance are related.

News 5 Cleveland reports that police in Belmont County were scheduled to hold a press conference about the case on Tuesday, but is was abruptly canceled.

According to the report, Bronowski is a clinical coordinator and district nurse for Akron Public Schools.

“Akron Public Schools and its employees are thinking of Nichole and her family, hoping for her safe return to her family and our schools,” APS Superintendent David James said in a statement to the news station.

Anyone with possible information is urged to contact Cuyahoga Falls police at 330-971-8334.
