SEE IT: ‘Cult mom’ Lori Vallow a no-show at hearing on charges she lied to police [VIDEO]

Lori Vallow chose not to appear for a virtual hearing connected to misdemeanor charges against her.

Vallow, whose children Tylee Ryan, 16, and J.J. Vallow, 7, were found buried in her husband Chad Daybell’s backyard in June, has been charged with conspiracy to obstruct evidence, along with multiple misdemeanor charges connected to her children’s disappearance. Neither she or Daybell have yet been charged with murder.

As East Idaho News reports, Vallow’s lawyer Mark Means said at the virtual hearing that his client chose not to attend, as the proceedings were expected to be very brief.

Vallow is charged with misdemeanor charge of resisting or obstructing officers, criminal solicitation to commit a crime and contempt of court. Prosecutors have alleged that Vallow lied to police in November 2019 when they came to her home in Rexburg, Idaho, for a welfare check requested by JJ’s grandparents. Vallow told police that her son was with her friend Melanie Gibb in Arizona, which Gibb has since testified was untrue. As CrimeOnline previously reported, arrest affidavits indicate that investigators believe the children both died on separate dates in September 2019, very shortly after each was last seen alive.

Vallow’s trial for the misdemeanor charges has been moved from a preliminary date of late January to August 30.
