SILVER Alert for missing 16-year-old girl

Authorities in North Carolina have issued a Silver Alert for a missing teen girl who has not been seen since February 14.

As WECT reports, 16-year-old Natalie Jade Ferguson went missing from her Sampson County home more than two weeks ago. The circumstances of her disappearance are not yet known.

According to the report, Natalie was last seen wearing a blue shirt, purple lounge pants and pink Crocs. She is 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs about 141 pounds.

A Silver Alert is a broadcast alert to inform the public about a vulnerable missing person. While Silver Alerts are often issued in connection to missing elderly, they are sometimes issued in connection to the disappearance of a younger person with a cognitive disability.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is urged to contact the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office at 910-379-7892.
