Developing: Unknown Suspect Blasts 75 Bullets At Woman’s Door When She Asks, ‘Who is it?’

An Illinois woman miraculously survived an attack Monday after someone shot at her door 75 times.

According to the Champaign Police Department, the incident happened at around 12:26 a.m. on August 2, at the 0-100 block of East Beardsley Avenue in Champaign. The 58-year-old victim said she heard someone knocking on her door and asked, “Who is it?”

An unknown suspect then started shooting at the victim’s door. The victim was hit five times. She’s now recovering in a hospital and in stable condition.

“Several rounds of gunfire by the offender(s) ensued, and additional damage to property was discovered to nearby residences and vehicles. Officers recovered 75 shell casings from the scene,” Champaign police said.

As officers arrived at the scene, they noted a black Dodge Durango had crashed nearby, with weapons inside the vehicle in plain view. The occupants of the Durango, which was reported as stolen, fled the scene before police could question them.
