No Connection Between Moab Murders and Gabby Petito’s Disappearance, Investigators Say

Utah investigators announced Friday that there’s no connection between the disappearance of Gabby Petito and the brutal murders of two women in Moab.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, police found the bodies of Crystal Turner, 38, and Kylen Schulte, 24, fatally shot at a campsite in Moab in August. Police have not yet named any suspects in the double homicide.

Both Petito and Laundrie had been at Moonflower, an organic co-op, on the day of the police incident. Kylen Schulte worked at the same co-op at the time of her disappearance. Authorities in Utah examined any possible connections between the double killings and Petito’s disappearance.

Grand County Sheriff Steven White confirmed in a statement that the Petito case is not related to the double homicides in a statement.

“It has been determined that the Gabby Petito missing person case is not related to the double-homicide case involving Crystal Turner and Kylen Schulte,” Grand County Sheriff Steven White said in a statement Friday afternoon.

Meanwhile, Petito remains missing after embarking on a cross-country road trip this summer with her boyfriend. Laundrie returned home to Florida without her, and her whereabouts are not known.

Gabrielle Petito is described as a white female with blonde hair and blue eyes. She is reportedly feet 5 inches tall and 110 pounds, with several tattoos, including one on her forearm that reads, “Let it be” in cursive.
