Michael Vaughan: Police Spot 2 Unknown People, Vehicles on Security Footage Near Missing Tot on Day He Vanished

The search for 5-year-old Michael Vaughan, an Idaho boy who was last seen in July, continues, as police seek information about unknown people and unknown vehicles near his home on the day he vanished

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Michael was last seen on July 27 at around 6 p.m. in Fruitland, Idaho, in a residential area near an open field near his home on SW 9th Street. He was wearing a “Minecraft” T-shirt, boxer briefs, and blue flips flops. It remains unclear who, if anyone, was with him before he disappeared.

On Friday, the Fruitland Police announced that two vehicles, along with two strangers, were spotted while authorities pored through neighborhood surveillance videos.

“As we doggedly comb through the neighborhood surveillance videos for July 27, we continue to discover vehicles and individuals that we cannot identify,” Fruitland police wrote on Facebook. “We are seeking the public’s assistance with the identification of the driver of a 2016-2020 model year, white, Honda Pilot seen leaving the area on SW8th St. around 6:47pm.”

We are also seeking assistance with the identification of the driver of a 2010-2011 model year, blue, Dodge Avenger also seen leaving the area on SW8th, but immediately turning right and headed south on South Whitley Drive.

Further, there were two individuals that were seen near the splash pad/ Crestview Park the evening Michael went missing. The first individual was a male adult with dark hair and facial hair, wearing dark colored shorts, no shirt, seen jogging on the sidewalk of SW8th St. near Crestview Park at around 6:15pm.

The second is a male adult with dark hair, wearing a white t-shirt and black shorts seen walking off of Sw8th St., down into the park area past the splash pad, towards the lower drainage behind the neighborhoods. It’s very important to understand that these people are not suspects or persons of interest, but it is important to talk to each of them to help us complete the picture of the events that took place that evening.

Authorities said that Michael’s parents remain fully cooperative. However, Fruitland police previously stated that no possibilities have been ruled out in connection with the child’s disappearance.

Michael is described as a white male who stands 43 inches tall and weighs around 50 pounds. He has blonde hair and blue eyes. His nickname is “Monkey.”

Anyone with any information on Michael’s whereabouts can submit a tip with Crime Stoppers or contact Fruitland Police at 208-642-6006, extension 0. A reward for information that leads to Michael has reportedly reached $40,000 and is valid through November 15.
