BREAKING: Fort Hood Soldier Found Dead Behind Barracks; One Day After Another Soldier Went Missing

Military authorities are investigating the death of a soldier stationed at Fort Hood who was found dead over the weekend.

As Fox News and KWTX report, an unidentified soldier 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood was found dead on Saturday behind barracks. The soldier appears to have been a male, but no other identifying information has yet been provided.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Pfc. Jennifer Sewell briefly went missing from the same military base late last week before relatives reported on Sunday that she was safe and in the company of family. It is unclear why Sewell went missing and when she is expected to return to Fort Hood.

The soldier who was found dead was reportedly assigned to the Army’s 1st Cavalry Division. There is yet no further information about the circumstances of the solider’s death or whether authorities are treating it as suspicious. U.S. Army officials did not immediately respond to a request for further information from Fox News.

Fort Hood is the site of the April 2020 murder of Spc. Vanessa Guillen, 20, who was found dead on the base; her body dismembered. Another soldier was named a suspect in her killing and took his own life as authorities were pursuing him.
