Neighbors in Shock After Colorado Family, Including 2 Children, Found Dead Inside Home: Police

Police said Sunday that a Colorado Springs family was found dead inside their home in what appears to be a murder-suicide.

A little after 10 a.m. on Friday, El Paso County deputies arrived at a residence in the 1300 block of Pleier Drive in Gleneagle, after someone called asking for assistance. After arriving at the home, responding deputies found two adults and two children dead inside the residence.

“When deputies entered the residence, they found two juveniles and two adults deceased,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement. “The El Paso County Major Cime Unit detectives were called out to process the scene.”

The Colorado Gazette reports that the identities of the deceased will not be released until their next of kin have been notified.

Neighbors said that after deputies arrived, a tactical support unit arrived at the home with guns, vests, and helmets.

“I did hear at one time, they had a loudspeaker [and] said, ‘Come to the front door with your hands up,’” a neighbor reportedly said, while another neighbor said it felt like they were “being invaded.”

Of course it’s disturbing,” another neighbor said, according to CBS 4. “You want to know the backstory. You want to know if it’s something from outside the neighborhood that came into the neighborhood or whether it was something internally festering in the home.

Anyone with information about the case should call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at (719) 520-6666. Check back for updates.
