UPDATE: ‘Active Shooter’ Incident Near Texas Elementary School Leaves 2 Students Dead & Dozens Injured

Update

According to ABC News, two children are dead and dozens more have been injured after a shooter opened fire near Robb Elementary School in Uvalde.

A Facebook post from Uvalde Memorial Hospital indicated that two students were brought in dead on arrival. Numerous other students are being treated at the hospital’s emergency room. An adult is also being treated after a bullet grazed her.

Numerous sources have told ABC News the suspect is dead.

A suspect has been detained after a Tuesday morning incident that authorities labeled as an “active shooter” situation.

ABC News reports that the Uvalde Police Department didn’t confirm whether there were any injuries after the suspect allegedly fired shots near the school.

‘There is an active shooter at Robb Elementary. Law enforcement is on site,” The Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District said. “Your cooperation is needed at this time by not visiting the campus. As soon as more information is gathered it will be shared.”

Students are being transported to the Sgt. Willie Deleon Civic Center, where parents can pick them up.
