‘Snapchat Rapist’: Man Rapes 11-year-old Child After Sending Her Inappropriate Messages on SnapChat, Police Say

A Delaware man is behind bars facing rape charges after he allegedly forced himself on a young girl earlier this year.

In late April, suspect Anthony Omeire allegedly began sending sexual Snapchat messages to an 11-year-old girl, Newark police said. The victim’s mother contacted police about the incident in late June, according to Lt. Andrew Rubin with the Newark police, Delaware Online reports.

Rubin said the child’s mother, the child, and the defendant had met one time at a restaurant. Afterward, the defendant obtained the child’s Snapchat information and allegedly began sending inappropriate messages.

Rubin added that the suspect went to the home of the child’s father and raped her in late May. It’s unclear how the defendant and the child’s father knew each other.

“Omeire then went to the home of the mother’s ex-husband, where the victim was staying, and forced the victim to engage in sexual intercourse with him,” Rubin said, according to Newark Post.

Omeire was arrested on July 10. He’s facing two counts of first-degree rape and remains behind bars on $200,000 cash bail.
