MOMMY LEFT ‘To go make money’: CCPD Find Six Kids Under 10 Years Old Alone in Mobile Home

A Texas mother is facing charges after she allegedly left her six children home alone while she was out at a bar.

According to the Corpus Christi Police Department, officers arrived at a home on the NW side of the city on Sunday, where a 9-year-old child told them that she had not seen her mother in days. The child added that her mother left to “make money,” KRIS 6 News reports.

The 9-year-old first tried to reach an inmate at the Nueces County Jail after a 5-month-old in the home ran out of formula. The child eventually reached the inmate, who then reached the child’s mother, Nautica Dunning.

The inmate reportedly said that Dunning had been on social media at the time, posting photos from a bar.

Inside the home, officers found two children in soiled diapers, another child that appeared dehydrated, and another child who was unconscious “to the point it looked like she was not breathing.”

Police said the residence had spoiled milk, inedible food, and extremely hot temperatures. The children were taken to area medical centers for a health check-ups.

When Dunning arrived home, she initially told officers that she paid a family member to watch the children. She later confessed that she “willingly left her children by themselves,” police said.

Dunning was charged with six counts of abandonment/endangering a child with criminal negligence. She remains behind bars on a $100,000 bond.
