New Orleans Mass Shooting: Two Teens Dead, Several Others Injured [Developing]

An overnight shooting Monday in New Orleans ended with two people dead and four injured.

According to WAFB 9, the incident happened around 12:30 a.m. in the 2000 block of St. Maurice Street. The News Orleans Police Department said a shooting broke out at what appeared to be a large gathering or holiday party.

The police department’s Homicide Section said two males, both 19, were shot and killed at the scene. Their names have not yet been released; The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office is expected to release their names and conduct autopsies, NBC 6 reports.

The other victims, four teens aged 17 to 18, were injured.

So far, no suspects have been arrested. Crime Stoppers is currently offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.

“Crimestoppers is here today to let you know that this mass shooting will not go unnoticed,” Crimestoppers CEO Darlene Cusanza said. “We are putting up a $5,000 cash reward for any information that could help lead to a perpetrator or perpetrators of this crime.”
