Search Continues for Missing New York Boy After Police Find His Friend’s Body in River

On Thursday night, the NYPD’s maritime boats and drones were spotted searching the Harlem River in connection with an 11-year-old boy reported missing last week.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Alfa Barrie, 11, and Garrett Warren, 13, were seen together last Friday night on security camera at Ana’s Fish Market on 145th Street and Lenox Avenue in Harlem, at around 6 p.m. An employee saw the boys inside the store, where they made a small purchase. The worker noted that the boys are regular customers of the shop.

On Thursday, police found Garrett’s body in the river, his family told ABC 7.

NYPD established a crime scene near the Madison Avenue Bridge following the discovery of a body.

“As a parent and as a God mother this is anybody’s nightmare, especially for your loved ones. It is unimaginable,” one of Garrett’s family members said, according to Fox 5 New York

Anyone with information on the children’s whereabouts should contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). Tips can also be submitted on NYPD’s website or via direct message on Twitter: @NYPDTips.

Police said tipsters can remain confidential. Check back for updates.
