Harmony Montgomery: Dad Insists He Never Harmed Missing Daughter as Judge Sentences Him

The father of missing New Hampshire girl Harmony Montgomery appeared at a court hearing in Hillsborough County and insisted he did nothing to harm his daughter.

According to CBS 3, Adam Montgomery, 33, appeared for sentencing on an unrelated gun conviction Monday morning and told Hillsborough Superior Court Judge Amy Messer that although he was found guilty on the gun charge, he had nothing to do with his daughter’s disappearance.

“I did not kill my daughter Harmony and I look forward to my upcoming trial to refute those offensive claims,” he said. “I could have had a meaningful life but I blew that opportunity through drugs. I loved my daughter unconditionally and I did not kill her.”

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Harmony was officially reported missing in December 2021, although she has not been seen in years.

Court documents indicate that police received a call from Harmony’s biological mother, Crystal Sorey, on November 18, 2021, who said Adam Montgomery had physical custody of Harmony and she couldn’t get in touch with him.

Sorey said that she lost custody of Harmony in 2018 due to drug issues. Montgomery, according to Sorey, blocked her calls and blocked her from social media, and didn’t allow her to speak to Harmony after Easter 2019.

In December 2021, Montgomery denied any involvement when police questioned him. He was initially arrested on child abuse charges and unrelated gun charges from another case. He was later charged with Harmony’s murder after his ex-wife, Kayla Montgomery, told police that he Harmony three times after she had a bathroom accident inside a vehicle, according to court documents.

Along with second-degree murder, Montgomery was also charged with abuse of a corpse and falsifying documents. He pleaded not guilty and is expected to face trial in October.

On the gun charges, Messer sentenced him to serve a minimum of 30 years and up to 60 years in prison for being a “career criminal.” She sentenced him to an additional 7 1/2 to 15 years for theft and receiving stolen property.

“These guns were stolen. There was a child in the house,” the judge said, according to Boston 25 News. “The guns were sold to and bought back from a convicted sex offender, and ultimately one of the guns was discovered in the hands of an individual who is apparently trafficking in both guns and drugs.”

Montgomery’s attorneys argued that he was sentenced based on the lies of others.

Meanwhile, Harmony remains missing, although police previously announced that she’s likely deceased, given evidence and information in the case.
