Texas Woman Blinds ‘Sugar Daddy’ with Detergent After He Refuses to Give Her $2K: Police

A Texas woman is facing charges after she allegedly blinded a man with detergent after he refused her demand for $2,000.

Kaley Renae Medina, 26, was arrested earlier this week in San Antonio and charged with a felony count of robbery, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.

Court documents indicate that a 61-year-old man connected with Medina on the dating app “Seeking” (previously known as Seeking Arrangement) in October. Plans were made for a dinner meeting on November 11, and the encounter went well, with “no issues.”

“What it appears to be is one of these — for lack of a better term — ‘sugar daddy’ type sites where people with money meet up with younger people that need money and make some sort of an arrangement to date or what have you,” Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar told News4SA.

The victim told police he continued to chat with Medina via text messages following the date, but had no plans of meeting up with her again. Then, on November 21, Medina allegedly showed up at the victim’s house at around 2:30 a.m., off  San Antonio’s Stargazer Pass near Overlook Parkway.

The man admitted that he allowed Medina to come inside and have some drinks. At some point, while they were conversing, Medina asked him for $2,000.

When the victim told Medina that he did not “have that kind of money,” she became irate, according to police, and began destroying the man’s belongings, including a television, a custom painting, and an entertainment center.

When he asked her to stop, Medina allegedly grabbed some detergent and poured it over his head, getting the chemicals in the victim’s eyes. She then fled the scene while the man crawled outside. Neighbors heard screaming and contacted police for assistance.

A responding deputy noted that several items were taken from the victim’s home, including a Dyson hair dryer, a passport, an iPhone, and a security camera.

The victim was taken to an area hospital with chemical burns to his eyes and cuts on his legs. He has since been released.

Police say this isn’t the first time Medina has been in legal trouble. In 2020, she was arrested and charged with a bar shooting incident in San Antonio’s West Side. She’s also been arrested several times for driving while intoxicated.

“This young lady has actually got a pretty extensive criminal history. DWI – times three. So she’s at a felony level DWI. She has been arrested for intoxication assault. Aggravated Assault. Aggravated assault on a security guard from a 2020 case,” Salazar said. “She’s certainly no stranger to the law.”

Medina is being held in the Bexar County Jail on a $20,000 bond. Check back for updates.
