SEE IT: Michigan Officer Saves Elderly Woman from Burning Vehicle

Fraser police in Michigan have released a video revealing an officer saving an elderly woman inside a burning pickup.

According to Fox2 Detroit, Fraser Police Officer Cameron Rieper responded to the incident in Macomb County late Saturday night after reports of a flaming pickup truck in the street’s median.

“There was flames in like the bed area of the truck and then the engine compartment was just starting to catch on fire,” Reiper said.

“She appeared confused, wasn’t really answering questions. She was still inside the vehicle so I opened the door, took her safety belt off and tried to get her out of the car.”

It’s unclear how the fire started or if the woman had medical issues, but Reiper managed to pull her from the vehicle. She was rushed to an area hospital and is expected to recover.

Meanwhile, Reiper is now offering tips to anyone who spots a burning vehicle.

“Do your best to try to assist the driver. Yell to them to get out of the car, informing our dispatch exactly what’s going on just so we have accurate information when we get on scene and we know what we’re walking into.”
